WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN WE CREATE YOUR WEBSITE
Before jumping into web design and development, it helps to understand how the process works. Here’s a breakdown of the key steps we take to bring your website to life. Click the boxes below to explore each stage. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
Let's start with a brief introduction to who we are.
Amara Collective is boutique Sunshine Coast, Maleny based graphic and web design business. The funny thing is when Amanda started the business she never thought web design would become a part of her daily work life, after all she is not all that tech. However, over her time designing logos and brand packages, her clients started asking her for websites. Amanda still does not do the tech stuff, and there is power in that. We put design experts into the design, function experts into the function aspects and developers take care of converting that into a well presented, functional website.
The team is passionate about creating beautiful, functional, and user-friendly websites for businesses of all sizes. As a website design service company, our goal is to help businesses create an online presence that is both engaging and effective.
Now, let's get down to the nitty-gritty of web design. The process can be a bit overwhelming at first, but we promise to make it as smooth and stress-free as possible.
The first step in the web design process is to get to know you and your business. We want to understand your goals, your target audience, your brand identity, and your unique selling proposition. This information will help us create a website that reflects your values and meets the needs of your customers.
To kick off the discovery phase, we'll schedule a consultation call or meeting where we'll ask you a series of questions about your business. Don't worry, it won't be a formal interrogation – we like to keep things casual and conversational. We'll also ask you to fill out a questionnaire that will give us more detailed information about your brand.
Case Study: trevorpurvis.me
Trevor Purvis had been working with us through an art event called Noosa Open Studios. Trevor was the president of Noosa Open Studios at the time and wanted to upgrade his personal Wix site to something with more style. The first question to answer was what was the purpose of the site. Trevor knew people didn’t often buy high end art off a website, so rather than spending time integrating a shop, we focused the site towards his portfolio and providing visitors information on his art workshop. His art work was the focus so we designed the site in a way that people could see his present and past work easily.
Once we have a good understanding of your business, we'll move on to the strategy phase. This is where we'll start thinking about the overall structure and functionality of your website. We'll create a sitemap that outlines the pages and sections of your site, and we'll discuss the features and functionalities that will be included.
During the strategy phase, we'll also take a look at your competitors' websites to see what's working for them and what can be improved upon. This will help us identify opportunities for differentiation and give you a competitive edge.
This is where the fun really begins! The design phase is where we start bringing your website to life. We'll create wireframes – basically, rough sketches of each page – to give you an idea of the layout and structure of your site. Once you've approved the wireframes, we'll move on to the visual design.
Our designers will create a custom design for your website that reflects your brand identity and appeals to your target audience. As a custom website design company, we focus on creating tailored websites that align with your business goals and customer expectations.
Of course we also have to think about search engine optimisation or SEO. Designing for SEO means that your site will become more visible to search engines like Google and Bing. You won’t even know this has happened, but we do.
Once you've approved the design, we'll move on to the development phase. This is where our developers will turn the design into a functional website. We'll design fully responsive site that works on mobile, tablet or large screen monitors. We also ensures that your site is fast, secure and accessible to all users.
During the development phase, we'll also integrate any third-party tools or platforms that you need, such as e-commerce or social media plugins. We'll test everything thoroughly to make sure that your site is functioning properly on all devices and in all browsers.
The big day has arrived – it's time to launch your website! We'll make sure that everything is in place before we flip the switch and make your site live. This includes setting up hosting, your own or ours, and domain name registration, as well as configuring any necessary analytics and tracking tools.
Case Study: breadandbuttercoffee.com.au
Even before the official launch of Elliot and Daniela website to promote and sell their amazing coffee, it made sales. This was exciting as it means the design formula worked. It is most likely that people already new the brand, but the site was built to tell the story of Bread and Butter coffee and build trust. Elliot and Daniela chose to use 95% of their own images too which is a nice touch to any website.
In today’s ever-fast-moving online world, websites need to be maintained. The final stage in the process is training you through the aspects of your personal website. We will show you how to update themes and plugins, and edit images and text, we are happy to even show you how to design a full page based on an existing page. Anything you need to know to keep things moving forward? Of course, many clients are happy for us to manage the site maintenance on their behalf.
Once your site is live, we'll monitor it closely to make sure that everything is running smoothly. We'll also provide you with training on how to make simple changes yourself or upload and manage products and shopping carts if that is what you are after. We also offer an ongoing support program where we host the site, back it up and keep it up to date with all the ongoing changes that occur in our fast-paced tech world.
